Friends for Life Bedford

Friends for Life is the only charity providing a befriending service to lonely, socially isolated older people in Bedford’s care homes

Founded in 2007, we’ve grown from small beginnings to a charity with around 70 volunteers, supporting 30 care homes – and we know there are many more residents who need us.

We know how loneliness can affect well-being. Our volunteers offer friendship and company to care home residents who have few or no family or friends to visit. We want to recruit more volunteers to become befrienders and, working in partnership, offer more group wellbeing activities to residents.
