Role Overview:
As the Director of Operations – EMEA, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing inbound and outbound operational processes across the region. This senior leadership position is key to ensuring seamless logistics, operational excellence, and strategic alignment with Pixi’s global business objectives. You will play a critical role in managing EU customs processes and compliance, stock management, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Finance, and global teams to drive operational efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and support Pixi’s rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Operations Leadership: Oversee all EMEA inbound and outbound operations, maintaining a high standard of accuracy, consistency, and visibility for all shipments, related documentation, and clearance procedures. Ensure operations align with Pixi’s OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) delivery performance goals.
- Sales & Operations Leadership: Represent Operations in Sales & Operations meetings, providing strategic insights on inventory status, back-in-stock timelines, and identifying areas to boost sales and reduce lead times.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with EMEA outbound managers, the Sales team, and Finance to align operational activities with business goals, addressing challenges proactively to support customer fulfilment and enhance overall performance.
- Customs and Compliance Expertise: Lead and manage EU customs processes, ensuring that all imports and exports comply with regional regulations. Implement and maintain robust procedures for customs documentation, declarations, and compliance audits.
- Assembly and Build Management: Oversee SKU assemblies within the Pixi system, including the management of Work Orders and month-end inventory reconciliation processes.
- Advanced Inventory Management: Drive the creation and maintenance of comprehensive stock analysis reports, including monthly data on sales, inbound receipts, and inventory turnover. Lead monthly reviews with EMEA and North American teams to anticipate and prevent out-of-stock scenarios.
- Outbound Operations Oversight: Manage the Outbound team to guarantee timely and accurate fulfilment of retailer orders. Oversee order allocation and fulfilment in NetSuite, ensuring system accuracy and effective communication with warehouse teams for dispatch.
- Operational Forecasting: Direct the preparation and communication of inbound forecasts, maintaining detailed visibility for stakeholders through real-time trackers and comprehensive month-end reports.
- Stock Integrity: Lead weekly and periodic stock reconciliations across all Pixi inventory sites, ensuring high system accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective measures.
- Customer Claims and Chargebacks: Manage the investigation and resolution of chargebacks and customer claims, establishing root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Audit and Compliance Management: Direct periodic and annual stock audits, ensuring compliance with in-house and external warehouse protocols.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations, enhance system efficiency, and support the scalability of Pixi’s growing operations.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8-10 years in Operations Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading complex logistics and supply chain operations, preferably in the FMCG or beauty industry
- Leadership and Team Development: Strong ability to manage, mentor, and develop high-performing teams. Industry Expertise: Experience in the beauty industry is highly preferred; retail sector experience is essential
- Advanced Forecasting and Planning Skills: Proven track record in demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Strategic Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate and influence cross-functional stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Expert EU Customs Knowledge: In-depth understanding of EU import/export regulations, documentation, and customs clearance procedures
- Advanced Proficiency in Excel: Skilled in data analysis, modelling, and the use of complex Excel functions for operational reporting and forecasting.
- Adaptability and Resilience: Proven ability to thrive under pressure, effectively manage multiple priorities, and welcome challenges as opportunities for growth.
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, Full-time in the office at the Pixi London office.
