About the role:
As the Managing Director, you will be at the helm of our Project Centre business area, driving growth, operational excellence and long-term success. Your hands-on leadership will inspire teams, strengthen client relationships, and position the company as a market leader in its sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the consultancy's financial and commercial performance, including profit and loss management
- Manage risk and business trade-offs to deliver optimal solutions for clients and the organization
- Drive business growth in existing and new markets across the UK and beyond
- Expand capabilities to develop higher-margin, large-scale consulting projects
- Provide exceptional leadership to build and motivate a high-performing team that prioritises client and company interests
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders and business leads in existing and new markets to drive growth
What we are looking for:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant field with chartered professional membership and/or extensive senior management experience; a management qualification is desirable
- Proven expertise with a strong track record in Project Centre’s core market, service delivery, and project management
- Comprehensive knowledge of Local Government, Private Sector operations, and the highway, transportation and public realm sectors
- Skilled in managing substantial resources, both human and financial, with excellent commercial acumen
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and client relationship skills, with experience recruiting and retaining a professional workforce
- Demonstrated success in growing a consultancy and developing services for existing and new clients
- Key competencies: leadership, coaching, team development, performance management, sales and growth, service capability development, communication, customer focus, business awareness, innovation, results delivery, problem-solving, and analytical thinking
