Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Reports To: GBGB Board

The Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) is seeking an inspiring and strategic Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization through a period of transformation.

Your Mission:

As CEO, you will be at the helm of a dynamic industry, ensuring strong governance, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and responsibility.

You will be responsible for:

Providing bold leadership through a pivotal period of change.
Driving effective regulation and ensuring the highest standards of integrity across the sport.
Championing governance and welfare to maintain and enhance GBGB’s reputation.
Implementing a compelling strategic vision set by the GBGB Board.
Promoting and executing GBGB’s Welfare Strategy, ensuring the care and well-being of greyhounds remain at the heart of operations.
Supporting commercial growth by working with stakeholders to develop a sustainable financial future for the industry.
Building a more inclusive and diverse sport, making greyhound racing accessible to all communities.
To develop further relationships with bookmakers to ensure that suitable levy funding is sustainable.
Overseeing financial strategy in collaboration with the Director of Finance to manage budgets effectively.
Inspiring and leading a dedicated team, ensuring GBGB staff and resources are aligned for success.
Engaging with key stakeholders, from industry leaders to media representatives, shaping public perception and fostering strong partnerships.
Representing GBGB on the Board of the BGRF, advocating for the sport at the highest levels.

Who You Are:

Proven experience as a CEO, MD, or Senior Board member, with a track record of delivering impact.
Strong strategic management skills, particularly in times of change and challenge.
A solid grasp of financial management, including budget oversight and business acumen in a not-for-profit regulatory environment.
A deep commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusivity.
The ability to build and maintain relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
Resilience and adaptability to thrive under pressure.
Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
A strong understanding of, or willingness to develop knowledge in, animal welfare and greyhound racing.
